* WHAT...Heavy snow. Additional snow accumulations between 6 and 15
inches for a storm total of 8 to 18 inches. Winds gusting as high
as 50 mph.
* WHERE...Northern Penobscot, Southeast Aroostook, Northern
Piscataquis, and Northern Somerset Counties.
* WHEN...Until 11 AM EDT Friday.
* IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult. The hazardous conditions
could impact the Thursday morning and evening commutes. Strong
winds could cause damage to trees and power lines.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Patchy to areas of blowing snow likely in the
open fields along US Route 1, State Route 11 and 212. Potential
for brief whiteout conditions and significant drifting.
