closed. Do not drive around barricades or through water of
unknown depth. Take the necessary actions to protect flood-prone
property.

Inexperienced swimmers should remain out of the water due to
dangerous surf conditions.
Swim near a lifeguard. If caught in a rip current, relax and
float. Don't swim against the current. If able, swim in a
direction following the shoreline. If unable to escape, face the
shore and call or wave for help.
* WHAT...For the Coastal Flood Advisory, up to one half foot of
inundation above ground level expected along shorelines and
tidal waterways (7.1 to 7.3 feet Mean Lower Low Water at
Charleston). For the High Surf Advisory, large breaking waves of
5 to 6 feet expected in the surf zone. For the High Rip Current
Risk, dangerous rip currents expected.

* WHEN...For the Coastal Flood Advisory, until midnight EDT
tonight. For the High Surf Advisory, from 8 AM Thursday to 8
AM EDT Friday. For the High Rip Current Risk, from Thursday
morning through Thursday evening.
* IMPACTS...This could result in some roads becoming impassable.
Dangerous swimming and surfing conditions and localized beach
erosion. Rip currents can sweep even the best swimmers away
from shore into deeper water.

today at Charleston. Saltwater inundation will be possible 1
to 2 hours before and after high tide.
