* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...A portion of southeast Georgia, including the following counties, Bryan and Chatham. * WHEN...Until 915 AM EDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 613 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. - Automated rain gauges across Chatham County report that 1 to 1.5 inches of rain has already fallen this morning. Very intense rainfall is moving across the area now, and hourly rainfall rates will increase into the 1 to 2 inch per hour range. Minor flooding of roads and travel disruptions can be expected in and around Savannah, Richmond Hill, Garden City, and other areas. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Pooler, Richmond Hill, Tybee Island, Hunter Army Airfield, Windsor Forest, Midtown Savannah, Downtown Savannah, Coffee Bluff, Hutchinson Island, I-16/I-95 Interchange, Wilmington Island, Savannah International Airport, Godley Station, Fort Pulaski National Monument, Montgomery, Garden City, Port Wentworth, Bloomingdale, Thunderbolt and Vernonburg.
