The National Weather Service in Tallahassee FL has issued a Flood
Warning for the following rivers in Florida...
Sopchoppy River near Sopchoppy (FR 343) affecting Wakulla County.
For the Sopchoppy River...including Sopchoppy (FR 343)...Minor
flooding is forecast.
* WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast.
* WHERE...Sopchoppy River near Sopchoppy (FR 343).
* WHEN...From this evening to early Sunday morning.
* IMPACTS...At 30.0 feet, The Painted Bridge begins to flood at this
level. Homes on stilts in low lying areas in the city of Sopchoppy
will experience flooding on the ground level.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 10:30 AM EDT Friday the stage was 25.1 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage
this evening to a crest of 29.6 feet just after midnight
tonight. It will then fall below flood stage tomorrow
afternoon.
- Flood stage is 28.0 feet.
- Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of
29.6 feet on 08/25/2008.
