Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
* WHAT...Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...A portion of southwest California, including the following counties, western Los Angeles and extreme eastern Ventura. * WHEN...Until 915 PM PDT. * IMPACTS...Roadway and small stream flooding will be likely, especially low lying and poor drainage areas. In addition, there will be the threat of rockslides and mudslides, especially in the foothills and canyon roadways. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 421 PM PDT, Doppler radar indicated moderate to locally heavy rain moving into extreme eastern Ventura County and Malibu region, and will shift into much of Los Angeles County during the late afternoon and early evening hours. Rainfall rates between 0.25 and 0.50 inches per hour will be common, with local rates up to 0.70 inches per hour possible across favored south facing slopes. - Some locations that could experience flooding include...
