For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building. Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm. Move indoors immediately. Lightning is one of nature's leading killers. Remember, if you can hear thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning. Torrential rainfall is occurring with this storm, and may lead to flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.

Recent lightning strikes have taken out all dispatch lines and 911 lines for the Laclede County Sheriff's Office. The Lebanon Police Department phone lines are also down. Technicians are working to restore services at this time, but they may be out for several hours. In the meantime, a backup line has been set up for all incoming calls at 417-533-7497.
