A Flood Advisory means minor flooding along waterways and other poor
drainage areas is imminent or may already be occurring. Persons in
the advisory area should use caution and avoid flood waters.
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
* WHERE...Portions of central and north central Illinois, including
the following counties, Livingston and La Salle.
* WHEN...Until 500 AM CDT.
* IMPACTS...Flooding may occur in poor drainage areas and creeks and
streams may rise out of their banks.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 158 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. Between 1.5 and 2.5 inches of rain have
fallen.
- Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 1.5 inches are expected
over the area.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Streator, Pontiac, Flanagan, South Streator, Cornell, Ransom,
Rutland, Kangley, Long Point and Dana.
