* WHAT...The Yukon River between the Forty Mile River and Eagle is beginning to break up with an ice jam reported 23 miles upstream of Eagle. * WHERE...THE Yukon River near Eagle. * WHEN...Through Thursday morning. * IMPACTS...Water levels are steadily rising on the Yukon River at Eagle and Dawson from snowmelt. An ice jam was reported 23 miles upriver of Eagle with water levels upstream from this jam up approximately 10 feet since yesterday. When this releases water levels downstream will rise rapidly with the possibility of additional jams and minor flooding of low lying areas near Eagle. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Those living in areas prone to flooding should monitor the river and be prepared to take action should flooding develop. - Http://www.weather.gov/aprfc
