Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Stay away or be swept away. River banks and culverts can become unstable and unsafe. In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded roads. Find an alternate route.
Locally heavy rain to the tune of 1 to 1.5 inches has fallen this evening. While rainfall is currently exiting the area, some localized high water is possible over the next hour or so in the typical low-lying trouble areas, with any high water receding thereafter. Do not drive your vehicle into areas where water covers the roadway. The water depth may be too great to allow your car to cross safely.
