A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 100 PM EDT for east
Tennessee.
Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly
from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the
basement or small central room in a sturdy structure.
Prepare immediately for large hail and damaging winds. People outside
should move to a shelter, inside a strong building and away from
windows.
Torrential rainfall is occurring with these storms, and may lead to
flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
At 603 AM EDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from 8 miles west of Sweetwater to 8 miles south of Decatur
to near Cleveland, moving east at 45 mph.
HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to
roofs, siding, and trees.
Locations impacted include...
Cleveland, Athens, Sweetwater, Decatur, Soddy-Daisy, Charleston, East
Cleveland, Niota, Calhoun, and Riceville.
This includes Interstate 75 in Tennessee between mile markers 23 and
59.
