by posting on our Facebook page, or via Twitter using hashtag
NWSGSP. Your message should describe the specific location where
impacts occurred and the depth of flooding observed.
* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
* WHERE...A portion of piedmont North Carolina, including the
following county, Mecklenburg.
* WHEN...Until 500 PM EDT.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
River or stream flows are elevated, mainly in northern and
western portions of Charlotte. This includes Mallard Creek, which
could brief overflow its banks into the PNC Music Pavillion
parking lot as well as low-lying areas along Pavillion Boulevard.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 144 PM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges
indicated heavy rain showers continuing across Charlotte and
vicinity. Minor flooding and elevated stream levels are
already occurring in the advisory area. Between 1 and 2
inches of rain have fallen since this morning.
- Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are expected over
the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding.

Uptown Charlotte, North Charlotte, West Charlotte, Hidden
Valley, Paw Creek, University City, Charlotte Douglas Airport
and Croft.
