Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared
to take action should flooding develop.
* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be
possible.
* WHERE...Portions of central and south central Virginia, including
the following areas, in central Virginia, Amelia, Cumberland,
Fluvanna, Prince Edward and Western Louisa. In south central
Virginia, Lunenburg and Nottoway.
* WHEN...Through Saturday morning.
* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
Area creeks and streams are running high and could flood with more
heavy rain.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- A slow-moving system will bring widespread showers and
isolated thunderstorms to the area from this evening into
early Saturday morning. Rainfall totals of 1 to 1.5 inches
are expected, with locally higher amounts possible. This rain
is also likely over areas that received significant rainfall
earlier this week.
