Withlacoochee River near Quitman (US 84) affecting Lowndes and Brooks Counties. * WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Withlacoochee River near Quitman (US 84). * WHEN...Until early Sunday afternoon. * IMPACTS...At 110.0 feet, In Lowndes County, Beaver Run Road, Spain Ferry Road, and Old Quitman Highway are flooded. Water will approach structures along Old Quitman Highway on the Brooks County side of the river. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 8:30 PM EDT Wednesday the stage was 108.5 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 8:30 PM EDT Wednesday was 108.9 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage late Sunday morning and continue falling to 101.7 feet Monday evening. - Flood stage is 104.0 feet. - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 108.5 feet on 05/05/1964. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
