Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.
A cold front will move through western New York overnight...and this will likely generate more showers and thunderstorms in the process. A moist and very unstable environment that is STILL IN PLACE may support additional strong thunderstorm activity as well. The greatest severe weather threat will come from localized wind gusts to 60 mph with the bulk of any strong thunderstorms developing by 2 AM. Some areas will also pick up over an inch of rain in under 30 minutes time.
