* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...A portion of southwest Michigan, including the following counties, Berrien and Cass MI. * WHEN...Until 600 PM EST. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1204 PM EST, Surface observations indicate that between one half and one inch of rain has fallen across the advisory area. Rainfall rates of up to one half inch per hour are possible through 2 PM EST this afternoon before rainfall rates begin to taper. The combination of this rainfall and frozen soil conditions will lead to runoff that will increase the risk of standing water and ponding of water on roadways. - Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.5 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Niles, Benton Harbor, St. Joseph, Dowagiac, Buchanan, Granger, Benton Heights, Fair Plain, Simonton Lake, Bridgman, New Buffalo, Berrien Springs, Cassopolis, Watervliet, Three Oaks, Coloma, Edwardsburg, Marcellus, Stevensville and Paw Paw Lake. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
