Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
* WHAT...Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive
rainfall are expected.
* WHERE...Portions of northeast and southeast Kentucky, including
the following counties, in northeast Kentucky, Johnson and Martin.
In southeast Kentucky, Breathitt, Floyd, Magoffin, Morgan and
Wolfe.
* WHEN...Until 830 AM EDT.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 429 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms moving into the advisory area. This will cause
urban and small stream flooding.
- Additional rainfall amounts up to 1.5 inches are expected
over the area through 8 AM. This additional rain will result
in minor flooding. Locally higher rainfall amounts are
possible, which could lead to flash flooding.

Paintsville, Prestonsburg, Jackson, Salyersville, Inez,
Mason, Simpson, Lewis, Warfield, Ballot, Riceville, Oil
Springs, Swamp Branch, Conley, Dobson, Leander, Patrick,
Mashfork, Denver and Niles.
