Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
* WHAT...Urban area and small stream flooding caused by excessive
rainfall is expected.
* WHERE...Portions of southwest Arkansas, including the following
county, western Miller and northeast Texas, including the
following county, eastern Bowie.
* WHEN...Until 1230 PM CDT.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
Rises in small streams and normally dry arroyos. Overflowing poor
drainage areas.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 928 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small stream
flooding. Between 5 and 6 inches of rain have fallen.
- Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are expected
over the area. This additional rain will result in minor
flooding.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Texarkana, Wake Village, Nash, Hooks, Redwater, Red Lick,
Mandeville, Genoa, Leary, Mount Pleasant, Pleasant Hill,
Homan and Red Bank.
