Obion River near Bogota Obion River near Obion For the Obion River...including Bogota...Major flooding is forecast. * WHAT...Major flooding is occurring and major flooding is forecast. This approaches the flood of record. * WHERE...Obion River near Obion. * WHEN...Until further notice. * IMPACTS...At 39.6 feet, Extensive flooding is occurring in the community of Obion. Agricultural land on both banks of the river is extensively flooded. Evacuations are necessary in Obion and Rives. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 8:00 PM CDT Tuesday the stage was 40.4 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 8:00 PM CDT Tuesday was 40.8 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to fall to 37.9 feet Sunday evening. - Flood stage is 34.0 feet. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
