RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 PM FOR WESTERN, CENTRAL, AND EASTERN NM DUE TO STRONG WIND AND LOW HUMIDITY... .Strong southwest winds and very low humidity has returned to most areas of western, central, and eastern NM outside of the northern mountains today. These southwest winds will turn west to northwest behind a Pacific cold front crossing west to east across the state late this afternoon and early evening before winds begin diminishing later this evening. The National Weather Service in Albuquerque has cancelled the Fire Weather Watch. * AREA AND TIMING...Northeast Highlands (Zone 103) and Northeast Plains (Zone 104) until 9 PM MDT. * 20 FOOT WINDS...Southwest 30 to 40 mph with gusts up to 60 mph. * RELATIVE HUMIDITY...11 to 15 percent. * IMPACTS...Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly. Outdoor burning is not recommended.
