Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
Patches of dense fog have developed across parts of the northern foothills and northwest Piedmont of North Carolina early this morning. The visibility has been reduced to one-half mile or less in some spots, particularly low-lying areas and around bodies of water. The fog should dissipate by mid-morning. If driving across the area, be on the lookout for sharply reduced visibility. Slow down and use your low-beam headlights.
