At 457 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over Whalebone, or 8 miles south of Kill Devil Hills, moving east at 30 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and half inch hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Locations impacted include... Stumpy Point, Manns Harbor, Nags Head, Mashoes, Manteo, Colington, Whalebone, Jockeys Ridge State Park, Roanoke Island Festival Park, Wright Brothers National Monument, Nags Head Fishing Pier, Wanchese, Bodie Island Lighthouse, and Outer Banks Fishing Pier.
