Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared
to take action should flooding develop.
* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be
possible.
* WHERE...Portions of central and northwest Virginia, including the
following areas, in central Virginia, Greene. In northwest
Virginia, Madison, Northern Virginia Blue Ridge and Rappahannock.
* WHEN...Through this evening.
* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- There is an increased potential for flooding given saturated
soils from last week's major flooding event. The heaviest
rains will likely fall during Wednesday afternoon to early
evening. Total amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible, with
locally up to 3 inches if the worst case scenario unfolds.
