Seek a safe shelter inside a building or vehicle. A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 1100 PM CDT for southeastern Mississippi.
At 513 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over Mill Creek, or 13 miles east of Laurel, moving north at 10 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and penny size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is possible. This storm will remain over mainly rural areas of northwestern Wayne County.
