Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.
* WHERE...A portion of northeast Alabama, including the following
counties, DeKalb and Marshall.
* WHEN...Until 945 AM CDT.
* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying
and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Numerous roads
remain closed due to flooding. Low-water crossings are inundated
with water and may not be passable.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 827 AM CDT, Between 1 and 4 inches of rain have fallen
overnight. Runoff from this rainfall continues to produce
lingering flooding in the area of Hester Road near Aldridge
Gap.
- Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.5 inches are possible in
the warned area.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Albertville, Fort Payne, Guntersville, Arab, Rainsville,
Crossville, Fyffe, Powell, Geraldine, Pine Ridge, Lakeview,
Union Grove, Whiton, Painter, Hustleville, Hopewell, McVille,
Lake Guntersville St Park, Kilpatrick and Chigger Hill.
