Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive cars through flooded areas. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. Do not drive into flooded areas or go around barricades. Nearly two feet of water will carry most vehicles away. Turn around, don't drown. Additional information is available at www.weather.gov. Neosho River near Parsons affecting Neosho and Labette Counties. ...The Flood Warning is extended for the following rivers in Kansas... Neosho River near Erie affecting Neosho County. Neosho River near Chanute affecting Allen and Neosho Counties. * WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Neosho River near Chanute. * WHEN...Until tomorrow afternoon. * IMPACTS...At 25.5 feet, Flooding occurs along 800 Street from Patrolia down to Chanute. Also 3/4 of a mile east of Chanute, Dump Road floods. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 7:30 PM CDT Thursday the stage was 25.6 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage late tonight and continue falling to 11.2 feet Tuesday evening. - Flood stage is 23.0 feet.
