Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared
to take action should flooding develop.
* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be
possible.
* WHERE...Portions of south central and southeast Virginia,
including the following areas, in south central Virginia,
Dinwiddie and Nottoway. In southeast Virginia, Chesapeake, Isle of
Wight, Norfolk/Portsmouth, Southampton, Suffolk, Sussex and
Virginia Beach.
* WHEN...Through late tonight.
* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- A nearly stationary frontal boundary will provide the focus
for numerous rounds of showers and storms across the watch
area. Rainfall totals of 1 to 3 inches, with locally higher
amounts expected, will lead to scattered instances of flash
flooding.
