Slate Creek At Wellington affecting Cowley and Sumner Counties. * WHAT...Major flooding is occurring and major flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Slate Creek at Wellington. * WHEN...Until tomorrow afternoon. * IMPACTS...At 23.5 feet, Slate Creek floods the Kansas Turnpike near mile marker 15 or four miles south of the Wellington exit. Closing of I-35 or the Kansas Turnpike from the Wellington interchange to the KS OK border is highly likely and traffic to be rerouted.
