The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers and locations in Indiana...Illinois... White River at Elliston and Edwardsport. Wabash River at Hutsonville Legacy Power Plant Site, Riverton, and Montezuma. .Additional rainfall Thursday brought new rises to area waterways, with flooding now occurring in west central and southwest Indiana along the Wabash at Montezuma, Hutsonville Legacy Power Plant Site, and Riverton, as well as on the White River at Elliston and Edwardsport. Additional warnings may be needed later for Petersburg and Hazleton on the White River. Dry and hot weather with considerable sunshine is expected into next week, which will promote moving excess water out of the drainage system and drying the soil. * WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Wabash River at Riverton. * WHEN...Until late Saturday evening. * IMPACTS...At 16.0 feet, Some agricultural lands underwater. A few rural roads in Crawford County, Illinois close as water backs up Minnow Slough. High water affects campground at Leaverton Park in Palestine. A few private roads near the Gill Township levee in Sullivan County may flood. Water level is at the top of most makeshift levees. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 9:00 PM EDT Thursday /8:00 PM CDT Thursday/ the stage was 15.4 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 9:00 PM EDT Thursday /8:00 PM CDT Thursday/ was 15.4 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 15.6 feet just after midnight tonight.
