Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
* WHAT...Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive
rainfall is expected.
* WHERE...Portions of central Upper and western Upper Michigan,
including the following counties, in central Upper Michigan,
Baraga. In western Upper Michigan, Houghton and Keweenaw.
* WHEN...Until 1100 AM EDT.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
Water over roadways.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 730 AM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges
indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This will cause
urban and small stream flooding. Between 1.5 and 3.5 inches
of rain have fallen.
- Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are expected over
the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding.

Houghton, Calumet, Hancock, Laurium, Chassell, Lake Linden,
South Range, Dollar Bay, Houghton County Airport, The Upper
Entrance of Portage Canal, Hubbell, The Lower Entrance of
Portage Canal, Redridge, Painesdale, McLain State Park,
Jacobsville, Toivola, Rabbit Bay and Freda.
