Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
* WHERE...A portion of eastern upper Michigan, including the
following county, Mackinac.
* WHEN...Until 1145 AM EDT.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
Water over roadways.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 1053 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms over far southern Mackinac county. Minor
flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the
advisory area. Between 2 and 3 inches of rain have fallen
around St. Ignace and Mackinac Island.
- Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are expected
over the area between 1100 AM and 1200 PM EDT. This
additional rain will result in minor flooding.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
St. Ignace, Mackinac Island, Straits State Park and Evergreen
Shores.
