* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...A portion of southwest Virginia, including the following counties, Grayson and Smyth. * WHEN...Until 600 PM EDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 248 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 0.5 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. - This includes the following streams and drainages... Fox Creek, Hurricane Creek, Comers Creek, Kinser Creek, Dickey Creek, Houndshell Branch, East Fork Hopkins Branch, Big Horse Creek, Jerry Creek, Laurel Creek, Dry Creek, Helton Creek, Blue Spring Creek and Guffey Creek. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1.5 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
