At 632 PM EDT, trained weather spotters reported thunderstorms producing heavy rain with road closures in Toms River. Between 1 and 1.5 inches of rain have fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 1 to 2.5 inches in 1 hour. Additional rainfall amounts of 1.5 to 3 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is already occurring. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Trained spotters reported. IMPACT...Flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets, and underpasses as well as other drainage and low lying areas. Some locations that may experience flash flooding include... Toms River, Beachwood, Seaside Heights, Lakehurst, Mantoloking, Pleasant Plains, Holiday City South, Leisure Village East, Leisure Village West-Pine Lake Park, Holiday City-Berkeley, Dover Beaches South and Dover Beaches North.
