Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Flooding is occurring or is imminent. Most flood related deaths occur in automobiles. Do not attempt to cross water covered bridges, dips, or low water crossings. Never try to cross a flowing stream, even a small one, on foot. To escape rising water find another route over higher ground. Additional information is available at www.weather.gov. The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in Pennsylvania... Swatara Creek at Harper Tavern affecting Lebanon and Schuylkill Counties. Conestoga River at Lancaster affecting Lancaster County. * WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Swatara Creek at Harper Tavern. * WHEN...Until early tomorrow afternoon. * IMPACTS...At 9.0 feet, several driveways and other minor roadways are affected. Water begins to enter some basements. At 10.0 feet, high water isolates several houses. At 12.0 feet, a number of secondary roads are closed, resulting in some evacuations. A few homes are flooded. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 9:15 PM EDT Tuesday the stage was 8.7 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage late this evening to a crest of 10.0 feet just after midnight tonight. It will then fall below flood stage tomorrow morning. - Flood stage is 9.0 feet. - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 9.1 feet on 05/08/2022. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
