The Flood Warning is extended for the following rivers in South
Dakota...
Big Sioux River near Brookings affecting Brookings and Moody
Counties.
* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
* WHERE...Big Sioux River near Brookings.
* WHEN...Until early Saturday morning.
* IMPACTS...At 9.0 feet, Significant amounts of pasture and farm
lands begin flooding on the left bank of the river. The road south
of the Brookings water treatment plant is flooded, as is 217th
Street between 468th and 469th Avenues.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 7:45 AM CDT Tuesday the stage was 9.4 feet.
- Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
ending at 7:45 AM CDT Tuesday was 9.4 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage
early Friday morning and continue falling to 8.7 feet Sunday
morning.
- Flood stage is 9.0 feet.
