Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms. Move indoors immediately. Lightning is one of nature's leading killers. Remember, if you can hear thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning.
At 606 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near Kennedyville to Old Town to near Rock Hall, moving east at 30 mph. THESE ARE DESTRUCTIVE STORMS FOR KENT AND NORTHERN QUEEN ANNES COUNTY IN MARYLAND. HAZARD...80 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without shelter. Mobile homes will be heavily damaged. Expect considerable damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles. Extensive tree damage and power outages are likely. Locations impacted include... Centerville, Chestertown, Centreville, Rock Hall, Church Hill, Millington, Sudlersville, Betterton, Old Town, Langford, Newtown, Starkey Corner, Morgnec, Massey, Crumpton, Carville, Kennedyville, Hope, Galena, and Templeville.
