* WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible. * WHERE...Portions of northeast North Carolina, including the following area, Northampton and Virginia, including the following areas, Amelia, Brunswick, Caroline, Charles City, Cumberland, Dinwiddie, Eastern Chesterfield (Including Col. Heights), Eastern Hanover, Eastern Henrico, Eastern Louisa, Fluvanna, Goochland, Greensville, James City, Lunenburg, Mecklenburg, New Kent, Nottoway, Powhatan, Prince Edward, Prince George (including Hopewell and Petersburg), Southampton, Surry, Sussex, Western Chesterfield, Western Hanover, Western Henrico (Including the City of Richmond), Western Louisa and York. * WHEN...Through late tonight. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Low-water crossings may be flooded. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - 2 to 6 inches of rain have fallen across much of the watch area over the past 48 hours. Scattered thunderstorms are again possible from this afternoon through part of tonight.
