Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. Do not stay in areas subject to flooding when water begins rising.
* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues. * WHERE...A portion of central Virginia, including the following counties, Cumberland, Goochland and Powhatan. * WHEN...Until 500 AM EDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 326 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated that heavy rain has fallen due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 1.5 inches of rain have fallen across portions of the advisory area. - Flooding impacts will continue, but little to no additional rainfall is expected. - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
