should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.
* WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be
possible.Localized rainfall amounts of 2-3 inches tonight in a few
hours.
* WHERE...A portion of central New York, including the following
areas, Madison, Northern Oneida, Onondaga, Schuyler, Seneca,
Southern Cayuga, Southern Oneida, Steuben, Tompkins and Yates.
* WHEN...Through late tonight.
* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- Showers and thunderstorms developing across the area can be
slow-moving and lead to heavy rainfall and instances of flash
flooding. Rainfall rates can near, or exceed 1 inch per hour
at times. Multiple rounds of thunderstorms training over the
same area can also result in localized flooding.
