Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared
to take action should flooding develop.
* WHAT...Flash Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be
possible.
* WHERE...A portion of southeast Virginia, including the following
county, Gloucester.
* WHEN...From this afternoon through late tonight.
* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- Showers and thunderstorms are likely this afternoon and
evening. Localized rainfall totals of 2 to 4 inches are
possible in the heaviest thunderstorms, along with rainfall
rates of 1 to 3 inches per hour. These rainfall rates and
amounts could produce flash flooding, with impacts
exacerbated in areas that have received significant rainfall
in the past week.
