Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
At 933 AM CDT, emergency management reported thunderstorms producing
heavy rain across the warned area. Between 2 and 4 inches of rain
have fallen. While water has receded off of area roadways, water is
still flowing in low-lying areas across northern Benton County.
HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.
SOURCE...Emergency management reported.
IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor
drainage and low-lying areas.

Vinton, Urbana, Shellsburg, Garrison, Mount Auburn, Rodgers Park,
Benton County Fairgrounds, Vinton Memorial Airport, Hoefle-Dulin
Park, Minne Estema Park, Benton City Park, Cheney and Wildcat
Bluff Park.
This includes Interstate 380 between mile markers 40 and 45.
