Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads. Flooding is occurring or is imminent. It is important to know where you are relative to streams, rivers, or creeks which can become killers in heavy rains. Campers and hikers should avoid streams or creeks.
At 803 AM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated the heaviest rain had left the warned area but smaller streams are still rising. Between 2 and 5 inches of rain fell. It will take time for runoff to recede. Flooding impacts will continue, but no additional heavy rainfall is expected. Flash flooding is already occurring. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Radar and automated gauges. IMPACT...Flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets, and underpasses as well as other drainage and low lying areas. Some locations that may experience flash flooding include... Toms River, Lakewood, Jackson, Howell, Tinton Falls, Manasquan, Point Pleasant Beach, Lakehurst, Farmingdale, Mantoloking, Ramtown and Allenwood.
