deaths occur in vehicles.
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
* WHAT...River and small stream flooding caused by excessive
rainfall is ongoing and expected to continue through the day
Tuesday.
* WHERE...A portion of north central Kansas, including the following
counties, Osborne and Rooks.
* WHEN...Until 600 PM CDT Tuesday.
* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying
and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Streams
continue to rise due to excess runoff from earlier rainfall.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 1144 PM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges
indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Between 3 and 8
inches of rain have fallen.
- This Flood Warning replaces the previously issued Flash Flood
Warnings issued for the area.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Plainville, Osborne, Stockton, Natoma, Woodston, Alton,
Zurich and Codell.
- Some rivers and streams include the South Fork of the Solomon
River, Medicine Creek, Kill Creek, Paradise Creek, Eagle
Creek and Covert Creek.
