The National Weather Service in the Twin Cities has issued a
Flood Warning for the following rivers in Minnesota...
Minnesota River at Morton affecting Redwood and Renville Counties.
.Widespread rainfall on Sunday combined with expected thunderstorm
activity through tonight, the river is now expected to rise above
flood stage tomorrow. The timing and stage height forecast is
subject to change depending on how much rainfall this area receives
through tonight.
* WHAT...Moderate flooding is forecast. Minor flooding is expected
to begin Tuesday afternoon. Moderate flooding is expected to begin
Wednesday evening.
* WHERE...Minnesota River at Morton.
* WHEN...From Tuesday afternoon until further notice.
* IMPACTS...At 24.0 feet, Fleischer Rd flooded in North Redwood;
storm sewers closed off and bypass pumping begins.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- The river stage is currently at 20.0 feet and rising.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage
tomorrow afternoon and continue rising to a crest of 24.1
feet Friday morning.
- Flood stage is 21.0 feet.
- Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of
23.9 feet on 08/20/2017.
