either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of strong
winds, low relative humidity values, and warm temperatures can
contribute to extreme fire behavior.
A Fire Weather Watch means that critical fire weather conditions
are forecast to occur. Listen for later forecasts and possible Red
Flag Warnings.
The National Weather Service in Elko has issued a Red Flag
Warning, which is in effect from 11 AM PDT Tuesday morning until
10 PM PDT Tuesday evening. A Fire Weather Watch has also been
issued. This Fire Weather Watch is in effect from 11 AM PDT
Wednesday morning until 10 PM PDT Wednesday evening.
* AFFECTED AREA...Fire weather zones 425 and 426.
* WIND...For the Red Flag Warning, sustained south to southwest
winds 15 to 20 mph, with gusts near 30 mph. For the Fire Weather
Watch, sustained south to southwest winds near 20 mph, with
gusts near 35 mph.
* HUMIDITY...Minimum relative humidity values as low as 5 percent.
* IMPACTS...Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly.
Outdoor burning is not recommended.
