Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared
to take action should flooding develop.
* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible.
* WHERE...A portion of south central Virginia, including the
following counties, Brunswick, Lunenburg and Mecklenburg.
* WHEN...Until 8 PM EDT this evening.
* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- Moderate to heavy rainfall is expected to continue through
today. Some areas have received 2 to 3 inches overnight, with
some potential for an additional 1 to 3 inches. While
rainfall rates will only average 0.5 to 1 inch per hour,
additional rainfall could cause flash flooding in poor
drainage area, along with rising creaks and streams.
