Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
Heavy rain in Downtown Savannah will result in nuisance flooding of
low-lying areas. Slow down when traveling and allow extra distance
between you and the vehicle ahead. Do not drive into water of
unknown depth.
* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
* WHERE...A portion of southeast Georgia, including the following
county, Chatham.
* WHEN...Until 545 AM EDT.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
Water over roadways. Overflowing poor drainage areas. Ponding of
water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 438 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain extending
from Riverside and Wilmington Island to the Savannah River
Entrance. This area heavy rain will impact Downtown Savannah
and nearby communities through 545 AM. A quick 1 to 2 inches
of rain could fall, resulting in urban flooding.

Pooler, Tybee Island, Midtown Savannah, Downtown Savannah,
Hutchinson Island, Hunter Army Airfield, Wilmington Island,
Windsor Forest, Fort Pulaski National Monument and Garden
