Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
* WHERE...A portion of southeast South Carolina, including the
following counties, Beaufort and Jasper.
* WHEN...Until 930 AM EDT.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 729 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated a band of heavy rain
from Hilton Head and extended offshore to around 20 NM. The
band will move northwest into central Beaufort County through
930 AM. As much as 1 to 2.5 inches of rain have already
fallen across some areas this morning. An additional 1 to 3
inches could fall, resulting in minor flooding of low-lying
and poor drainage areas.
