A coastal storm is bringing heavy rain to the Lisburne Peninsula
this evening that spreads east across the Western Brooks Range
through Wednesday. Total rainfall is likely to exceed 2 inches
for the south facing slopes of the far Western Brooks Range near
Kivalina by Wednesday with lesser amounts farther east near
Ambler. Localized areas could see up to 3 inches of total
rainfall. Rain is expected to end Tuesday night near Point Hope
and early Thursday morning near Ambler. Rapidly rising water
levels are possible for smaller streams with a chance of minor
flooding.
