Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Flooding is occurring or is imminent. It is important to know where
you are relative to streams, rivers, or creeks which can become
killers in heavy rains. Campers and hikers should avoid streams or
creeks.
At 558 AM MDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated
0.50 to 0.80 inches of rain fell across the area earlier, and flash
flooding is likely ongoing.
HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing
flash flooding.

normally dry washes, slot canyons, and slick rock areas.

The heaviest rainfall occurred over the Pine Creek and Clear Creek
drainages along Highway 9 near the Zion-Mount Carmel Tunnel. The
Zion Canyon automated weather station has received 0.79 inches since
