Do not drive your vehicle into areas where the water covers the roadway. The water depth may be too great to allow your car to cross safely. Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...A portion of the Upper Keys. * WHEN...Until 1245 PM EDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Water over roadways. Overflowing poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1049 AM EDT, National Weather Service Meteorologist detected heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing in the advisory area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Key Largo, Jewfish Creek Bridge, Plantation, Route 1/card Sound, Route 1/card Sound Road Split, Rock Harbor, Ocean Reef, North Key Largo and Islamorada. - This includes US 1 between mile markers 106 and 90. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
